Erica's Wood Carving (:

I carved this out of unusually hard balsa wood. It started off as a solid block, and then after quite a bit of work (this is the first & only carving I've ever done) it turned into this! I tried to make it look like metal that was corroding, so I picked the inside with a little scoopy wood carving tool.....It was tedious. Then I sanded it 1 zillion times. Whew! Then I painted the whole thing using copper spray paint and teal and green acrylic. Last, I glossed it about 5 times with clear acrylic spray gloss...Now it sits hidden somewhere on my dresser (:
